Melody Nolan is a circus artist specializing in handbalancing. She has spent the past decade investigating technical and artistic possibilities for the body in motion. After discovering circus at Bounce Gymnastics and Circus Arts Center in Eugene, Oregon, she continued her training in handstands and hand to hand at the San Diego Circus Center. She currently studies at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where her work melds handstands with acrobatic movement.
Fueled by enduring curiosity, Melody is fascinated by the minutiae of handbalancing as well as its underlying principles. Balancing technique with creativity and routine with novelty, she seeks to develop an ever-evolving relationship with the practice of handstands. As a handstand teacher, she responds to the unique bodies and capacities of individual students. Melody strives to share fundamental training practices and techniques to guide students toward their handstand goals.
